Woodmansterne Village May Queen Fete took place on the Village Green on Monday the 6th May 2019. The procession left The Readens at 12.50pm and travel up Chipstead Way, arriving on the Village Green at approx. 1.15pm.
This year’s May Queen were Amber Masini and Molly Ingram. They were crowned by The Worshipful Mayor of Reigate & Banstead, Cllr Dorothy Ross-Tomlin.
Amber and Molly are aged 12 years and have lived in Woodmansterne since they were born. They have been friends since they were 6 months old and wanted to always be May Queens’ together. They joined the May Queen Group in 2011. Both girls attended Woodmansterne Primary School and are now at The Beacon School. There hobbies include dancing.
Stalls at the fete this year will included a bouncy castle, children’s rides, face painting, tombola’s, raffle, refreshments and many more.
This year we raised money for local charities as well as Crohn’s & Colitis UK (Registered charity no: 1117148) and RSPCA (Registered charity no: 219099) both of which are fantastic Charities which are close to the girl’s hearts. We also raised money for local community groups who help out with the May Queen event each year.
The total amount we raised from this year’s event is £2000. We have distributed this amongst our chosen Charities and Community Groups.
Thank you for coming along and helping to support this lovely local event which is now in its 53rd Year!!
