The Crowned May Queens 2019

MONDAY 2nd May 2022

It is with huge regret that for a second year running our traditional May Queen fete will not be taking place. Planning for this event begins early January and due to restrictions remaining in place and businesses that support our event either heavily effected or closed it will not be possible to plan and organise in the timeframe available, assuming lockdown ends on 8th March 2021.

Thank you for your continued support.

The Woodmansterne Village May Queen Fete will now take place on the Village Green on Monday 3rd May 2021. The procession will leave the Readens at 12.50 and travel up Chipstead Way, arriving on the Village Green at approx.1.15pm.

This years’ May Queen is Holly Jones. Holly will be 14 and has lived in Woodmansterne all her life. She has been part of this May Queen since 2012, when she was 5 years old.
Holly attended Woodmansterne Primary School and is now at The Beacon School. Holly was part of the local Brownie group and used to also take part in the May pole dancing we have each year.  Holly is very studious and her hobbies include reading and art.

Stalls at the fete this year will include bouncy castle, childrens’ rides, face painting, tombola, raffle, refreshments and many more.

This year the group are supporting The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association (registered charity no: 209617), as well as local community groups. In 2019 we raised an amazing £2,000 for our nominated charities and local community groups.

We look forward to seeing you all there and thank you for your support for this fantastic local event, now in its’ 55th year!
